Following several weeks of preperation, and giving up their own time for several sessions, an inspirational group of our Year 10 students travelled to Malmesbury School to take part in a Model UN Assembly with pupils from Malmesbury and Westonbirt Schools.

The students were split into countries and sub committees and tasked with finding agreed resolutions to solve:

  • The global threat of Climate Change
  • The growing threat to security posed by North Korea
  • The growing conflict within Myanmar

All students stepped out of their comfort zones and debated complex global issues with articulate confidence, despite their nerves.  The day gave students a valuable opportunity to build skills in research, teamwork, presentation, public speaking, problem solving and confidence. More importantly, it enabled participants to link with students from other schools and nationalities to realise they can be agents for change in our world and contemplate very real topics with empathy, creativity and passion.

Here’s looking towards creating possible world leaders of our future.

We are all so proud of you.
