We are pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSEs and BTEC qualifications this summer.

For example, we are very proud of Iola’s achievement of achieving grades 8 and 9 in all her GCSE subjects. Similarly, we are extremely pleased that Emilie and Amy achieved a range of grades from 6 to 9 in Maths, English, Art, PE, Drama, History, Geography and French. Theo also achieved fantastic grades in Music, Computer Science and English Language. Many students displayed great resilience and subsequently made great progress too. For example, Fin achieved grades 7s in PE and Geography, grade 6s in History and English Language while achieving grades 4 and 5 in all other subjects.

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.

Jon Bell, the school’s headteacher said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
