To Students, parents, carers and friends of the school,
I hope you have enjoyed a magical wintery day in the snow.
It is with sadness that we have decided to cancel this year’s carol service, due to take place at St Marys’ church on Tuesday 13th December.
Following 3 years of absence, we were delighted at the prospect of reigniting this important school tradition and celebrating the special community that our schools serve. However, as always, our first priority has to be the health and safety of all in our school community, and those living in the local community.
Having spoken to the church warden at St Marys’ church this afternoon we have been advised that conditions are still not reliably safe in and around the church. This, alongside challenging levels of staff and student absence across all four schools means that the responsible choice is to not go ahead with the event.
We are looking forwards to celebrating the Christmas period as a whole school at St Marys’ church on Friday. Students who were due to perform at Tuesday’s carol service will be invited to perform there instead.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best wishes for a lovely Christmas
Mr Dillon
