As part of the Athelstan Trust, we reap the benefits of being part of a Multi-Academy Trust (consisting of 5 secondary schools and 2 local feeder primary schools), whilst retaining our identity as a school. Schools within the Athelstan Trust share a deep commitment to delivering an excellent comprehensive education to all the students in the Trust. The Trust offers further career development opportunities for colleagues to work across more than one school in a supportive environment.

Striving for excellence not only applies to our students – it also applies to our staff, to facilitate this there is a dedication to continued professional development, as you can see below:

‘SWR has a very strong sense of community. Staff are very supportive of one another and always willing to help solve a problem. Working in a small school means that you very quickly feel a part of the community as it is easy to get to know the lovely students who are the most personable students I’ve ever taught in a ten year career’.
