Our intent:

The Design Technology and Food Preparation & Nutrition Curriculum at Sir William Romney’s School aims to provide all students, no matter their background or starting point, the opportunity to learn new skills in a variety of ways. In this way, our hope is to broaden our student’s horizons and to help them to see and reach their true potential. All students have equal opportunity to study all aspects of Design Technology and Food Preparation & Nutrition throughout their time at Sir William Romney’s. The skills learned by our students will enable them to access a wide range of Post 16 courses or careers in many different sectors. Our aim is to make the routes to these opportunities clear and achievable. As well as this, we strive to develop a range of personal and life skills such as teamwork, problem solving and creativity that will enable our students to become confident, independent, and valuable members of society.

Extra- Curricular Activities:

• Weekly lunchtime diner club in the Food Preparation & nutrition room (invite only)
• KS3 workshop lunchtime club running on a weekly basis
