Staff
Staff wellbeing is equally as important as students’ wellbeing and we try to address this in a number of ways, for example:
- Wellbeing Day
Every year we have a staff wellbeing day that promotes positive wellbeing. These are usually a fantastic opportunity to get to know each other.
- Shout Out Board
We recognise that a lot of what happens in schools happens as a result of staff going over and above. This is frequently acknowledged on our staffroom ‘Shout Out’ board that is populated with messages of appreciation and thanks for each other.
- Staff Voice
We undertake a staff wellbeing survey twice a year. Results are analysed by SLT and the Governors and practice changed or suggestions taken on where appropriate and possible.
For example, we introduced celebration briefings. The aim of these briefings to celebrate the many aspects of our school community and have seen us sharing successful interventions or achievements of staff and students alike.
- Health Assured Employee Assistance Programme which offers a 24 hours helpline to support staff through any of life’s issues or problems.
